What we store
To run Slyde, we store:
- Your account email and profile (name, avatar).
- The decks and themes you create, including their content and edit history.
- Images and videos you upload into a workspace.
- Workspace and organization membership — which workspaces you belong to and your role in each.
- Chat messages and comments you post inside a deck.
- If you subscribe: your plan status, when your trial ends, when the current billing period ends, and the identifiers Stripe gives us for your customer and subscription records. We never receive or store your card number — the payment form is Stripe’s, and card details go straight to them.
- A count of AI requests you make, used to enforce the fair-use limits in the Terms. We keep the count and the feature name, not the contents of your prompts.
How we use it
Solely to operate Slyde: authenticating you, syncing your decks across devices, enabling real-time collaboration with people you share a workspace with, and powering the AI generation features. We don’t use your content for advertising, and we don’t sell it.
Who we share it with
Slyde runs on a small number of infrastructure providers that process data on our behalf:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage for your account, decks, and uploaded media.
- Vercel — application hosting, plus privacy-friendly aggregate traffic analytics that don’t use cookies or build a profile of you.
- OpenAI — when you use a generation feature, your prompt and the relevant deck and Brain content are sent to produce a response. That content is used only to generate your result; it isn’t used to train their models on our behalf.
- Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions. When you subscribe, your card details and billing address go directly to Stripe, who is the controller of that payment data under their own privacy policy. We only ever see the plan status and the identifiers described above.
We don’t sell your data to anyone, for any reason.
Diagnostics
When something breaks in the app, we record the error — its message, where in the code it happened, the address of the page you were on, and your account id if you were signed in — so the bug can be found and fixed. Reports are capped in length and limited in number per session, and they aren’t used for anything but debugging. We don’t send them to a third-party analytics service; they go into our own database.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account at any time from the account menu in the sidebar (“Delete account”). Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your profile and sign-in.
- Your personal workspace and everything in it — decks, themes, brain content, and images.
- Any organization you own that has no other members.
- Your memberships in every other workspace you belong to.
An organization you own that still has other members can’t be deleted this way — transfer ownership or remove its other members first. Content you contributed inside an organization you don’t own (comments, chat messages, shared decks) may remain after your account is deleted, attributed to no one, since it’s shared with other members of that workspace.
If you have an active subscription, deleting your account cancels it first, so no further charges can be made. One thing does survive deletion: Stripe keeps a record of payments you actually made, because tax and accounting law requires invoices to be retained. That record lives with Stripe, under their privacy policy, and we can’t erase it.
Cookies
Slyde sets only the cookies required to keep you signed in (your authentication session). We don’t use advertising or third-party tracking cookies, and our traffic analytics are cookieless. When you open the checkout form, Stripe may set its own cookies for fraud prevention — that’s covered by Stripe’s privacy policy.
Security
We use industry-standard measures — encrypted connections, access-controlled storage, and row-level security on our database — to protect your data. No service can guarantee perfect security, so we can’t promise Slyde is immune to every possible incident.
Children
Slyde isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will update the “Last updated” date above.
